Abby’s Afternoon at the Mall
Today Abby and I went shopping… and not just to the pet store. A new mall, Partridge Creek, opened up on Hall Road. It is an outdoor mall and is dog friendly. There are quite a few stores that allow dogs inside. Since it was so nice out today I figured Abby and I would check it out and see how she would handle it. I am very happy to report that she was a very good dog and will be going back again. She, as usual, made a lot of new friends. We went to a store called The Three Dog Barkery, to get a few treats for her. One of the guys working there seemed to really like her and kept petting her. Then we moved on to other stores and people kept wanting to pet her and were saying she what a good dog she was. There were even a few stored that Abby seemed interested in going into but there weren’t somewhere I wanted to go or they weren’t dog friendly stored… I think she is a little shopper at heart! It is nice to have somewhere to take Abby where I can get some shopping done too.

I know Abby is a quiet dog that doesn’t bark much. How about other dogs at the mall when you were there - were there many other dogs and were they as well behaved as Abby or was it noisy with a lot of barking dogs?

There were some other dogs there. For the most part they were pretty well bahaved. There were a few that seemed to bark quite a bit. It wasn’t real noisy… at times you almost forgot there were other dogs around. There is alos a code of conduct that you must follow when you have your dog there and if someone from the mall sees a dog acting up too much they can ask that person to leave.
I also found it funny how the people without dogs reacted. Most of them would try to pet Abby or smile at her and say she was cute but others would like move over on the walk way so they didn’t get to close. And as usual Abby tried to walk up to every child she saw. I have to teach her to walk up to good looking (hopefully single) men to help in the quest to find me someone!
