The Answers
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008Here are the answer to the questions that were asked. Only my brother and friend asked questions, so thankfully my brother asked quite a few. The answers are just my opinion or facts that I looked up online. I don’t mean to offend anyone so if you don’t agree with me then we will agree to disagree. On with the answers….
My brother Scott asked…
1. Who do you think will win the NASCAR Sprint Cup this year?
Well I am not really watching NASCAR this year so I will just go with my favorite guy and say Tony Stewart.
2. Do you think Dale Jr.’s move to Hendrick will help launch him into the Top 5 drivers?
I hope Jr. can finally do something to earn the fame that he has and so he can climb out of the shadow of his father. I know he gets some credit just from his name but I think he is a good driver who just has to prove himself and I think now that he is not with DEI it will be the best opportunity he has had in his career.
3. Since everyone seems to be jumping to NASCAR lately (Montoya, Franchitti, Villeneuve, etc.), do you think Danica Patrick should make the jump? If so, do you think she would be more successful in NASCAR?
I really don’t know if she would be more successful in NASCAR. However, I do hope that she finds success in whatever circuit she is in. It is nice, being a woman, to see a woman break into a male dominate sport and succeed.
4. What three people, regardless if they are alive or dead, would you love to sit down and have dinner with?
John Adams, my Grandpa Glonek and Dane Cook. Ok I know, it’s an odd group but here are my reasons. Mr. Adams because I have always had a fascination with the time period around the signing of the declaration of independence and would just love to talk to him about that time. My grandpa because I never really got a chance to know him. I was only eight when he passed and there are so many things I would love to talk to him about. However, I did just see a psychic and he told me that both grandma and grandpa Glonek are with me. Mr. Cook because he is just so fricking funny (and good looking). I just think it would be a fun night to have dinner with the funny man.
5. If you won the lottery (like Powerball or the Big Game), would you go out and buy a new car? If so, what would you buy?
Well since I just leased a new Jeep it might not be the first thing on my list but I would look into maybe a “summer” car. I would probably get a BMW Z4 Roadster 3.0si. But first would come a house with a nice big fenced backyard for Abby.
6. What is the one place on Earth that you would most like to visit?
I really would like to go to Poland someday. I have been trying to teach myself Polish and I hope one day to use it while in Poland.
7. If you were given the opportunity to go to the Moon, would you?
If there was no such thing as motion sickness then yes.
8. Do you think the Red Wings are going to win the Stanley Cup this year?
The Wings fan in me says yes. But I don’t think they will win if Hasek is out in net. I think the smart thing to do is put Osgood in net then they would have a better chance at it.
9. What song gets played the most on your portable iPod-like player?
Well one that gets played a lot is the song called #1 by Nelly but that is due to that fact that it is the first on one the list of songs. I usually skip it just a few seconds into it. One that gets played a lot that I listen to right now would be Jukebox Hero by Foreigner.
10. Have you put much thought into the three candidates left running for President? If so, who would you most likely vote for?
I haven’t really put too much thought into it yet. Though I know I won’t be voting for McCain… I am far to liberal to vote Republican. I did a survey a few months back and was matched better with Obama but I am not sure yet.
11. Did you hear/read Senator Barack Obama’s speech about racism in Philly earlier this week? If so, do you have any thoughts about it?
I did not read or hear it. However, I did hear a few parts on the news. I think he made a few mistakes on how he spoke. But most politicians are good at double talk.
12. Is there a movie coming out this summer that you “just have to” see?
Well I really want to see the movie “Stop Loss” but that is a spring movie. Other than that I am not really sure what is coming out this summer.
13. What is the square root of 127 (rounded to the nearest one millionth … meaning six places past the decimal)?
11.269427
14. When was the last time you had asparagus?
That would be the summer of 2007.… Dad cooks it on the BBQ during the summer.
15. If you were going to read one book of fiction this summer, what book would it be?
There are a few James Patterson books that I want to read… hopefully I will get to at least one this summer.
My friend Cris asked…
1. What is your favorite Supernatural episode, and why?
For those that don’t know, Supernatural is a show on the CW network. It focuses on two brothers who hunt and kill supernatural “beings”. I would say my favorite episode is Bad Day at Black Rock. Mostly because it is so funny. It is a different kind of show for them since they aren’t hunting something evil but they are just too funny and cute in that episode.
2. What’s your favorite pasta dish, and why?
If I have to pick just one it would be my pasta, chicken, pesto, feta and black olive dish. It is just so yummy.
3. Do you think Abby will ever have a sister or brother, if yes what kind of dog? (I know you told but I forgot)
The first thing that has to happen for Abby to get a sibling is her and I moving out of mom and dads. If that were to happen and I were to get another dog (which I think Abby would like to have a constant playmate) it would be a Weimaraner (which you can look at here).
4. What is Jackfruit and Dragon fruit?
Jackfruit is a tropical Asian tree (Artocarpus heterophyllus) having large edible fruits, unisexual flowers, and fine-grained durable wood.
Dragon Fruit… Also known as the Dragon Fruit, the Pitaya is a stunningly beautiful fruit with an intense color and shape, magnificent flowers and a delicious taste. Once only seen in the finest restaurants it is fast becoming common-place throughout Australia as a garnish and a delicious fresh fruit. To eat the fruit serve chilled and cut in half. Scoop out the flesh and seeds much like a kiwi fruit.
As a side note…
It may seem odd to start this list of superfoods with one you’ve likely never even heard of. But studies have shown that this little berry is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world! Açaí (ah-sigh-ee) is the high-energy berry of a special Amazon palm tree. Harvested in the rainforests of Brazil, açaí tastes like a vibrant blend of berries and chocolate. Hidden within its royal purple pigment is the magic that makes it nature’s perfect energy fruit. Açaí is packed full of antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids. Although açaí may not be available in your local supermarket, you can find it in several health food and gourmet stores (often in juice form). A new product featuring the unsweetened pulp is now also available, and I highly recommend that you choose this form of açaí.
